whose mission is to promote the understanding and appreciation of nature,
and to aid in the conservation and restoration of our natural ecosystems.
Chicago Ornithological Society
- promotes the scientific and educational aspects of ornithology in the
greater Chicago area.
Cornell Lab of Ornithology -
the folks who helped re-discover the Ivory-billed Woodpecker.
DuPage Birding Club -
our neighbors to the east whose purpose is to promote birding as an
avocation, and to educate its members and the general public.
eBird - a repository of
birding information managed by the Corneel Lab of Ornithology.
Illinois Audubon Society -
our parent organization.
Illinois Ornithological Society - an
organization dedicated to Illinois birds and birding, has a link to submit
documentation of rare and unusual birds to IORC.
McHenry County Audubon Society - a sister Illinois Audubon chapter, this
one on our county's northern border.
Sand Bluff Bird Observatory (Bird Banding Station) - Located in
northwestern Illinois, Sand Bluff calls itself "...one of the largest
small-bird banding operations in the country that is open to the public."
That means that visitors are welcome to watch and learn.

MISCELLANY
The Chimney Swifts Organization - The folks who supplied us with the
inspiration and the construction information needed for our successful
Chimney Swift tower project.
The Cook County Coyote Project - Chris Anchor, the leader of this coyote
study, was a guest speaker at our April 2009 meeting. The presentation was
both well-attended and highly informative.
The Friends of Hackmatack - Ed Collins spoke at our April 2011 meeting
about the proposed Hackmatack National Wildlife Refuge in northeast
Illinois/southeast Wisconsin. Following the presentation, KCA unanimously
voted to support the project.
